The HSLC Animal Shelter will only place a "hold" on an animal if their full adoption fee is paid or you call and tell the staff that you are on your way. Then animal will then only be held for the length of time it takes for you to arrive at the shelter. All other animals are on a first come basis to a qualified adopter.
